Weybridge began as a bridge. The Wey's Elizabethan crossing grew into a settlement of wharves and mills, and that riverside origin still underpins the town: the 1651 Navigation meets the Thames here, the Desborough Cut slices a neat channel past Desborough Island, and the Thames Path threads through on the south bank. For decorators, water changes everything. The houses along the navigations and the river face humidity swings and the occasional inundation, so ground-floor specifications lean toward mineral systems and hard, recoverable joinery finishes rather than anything that turns to ruin after one wet winter. Inland, the town stacks its eras in tidy order. Around Monument Green and the streets off Baker Street and Church Street — where a plaque marks E. M. Forster's decade in residence — the conservation area holds the historic core, and jobs there begin with listed-building sense: lime-compatible fillers, careful stripping, and colours agreed with Elmbridge's guidance rather than assumed. East of that sits Oatlands, a Victorian and Edwardian villa suburb built over a ducal estate whose palace survives only as a Tudor gateway; its tiled entrance halls, panelled doors, and generous stairwells are where our colour-matching work earns its keep. Queens Road keeps the shopping and, above it, a scattering of mansion blocks whose communal programmes we run floor by floor.

Then there is the Hill. St George's Hill has been Surrey's statement address since builder W. G. Tarrant bought nine hundred acres in 1911 and laid out a gated estate around tennis and golf clubs with one-acre minimum plots. The houses inside and around it are our largest programmes: full interior works with sprayed joinery to a furniture-grade flatness, kitchens refinished in situ, and schedules coordinated through estate offices and household staff. A century after the circuit at Brooklands made the town famous for speed, the same precision the racing demanded — measured, tested, verified — is roughly our attitude to a paint film.
